Al is the founder and Chairman of Borstein Enterprises. He has over 50 years of experience in real estate development. Prior to the formation of Borstein Enterprises, W&B Builders (a venture between Ray Watt and Alan Borstein) developed and constructed approximately 2,500 homes and condominiums from 1972 through 1979. Alan Borstein was also the President of Boise Cascade Building Company from 1969 through 1972 and was responsible for the sale and development of 7,000 single family homes and condominium residences, 3,000,000 square feet of industrial space and 40 mobile home parks.
Alan is a founding member of the MIT Center for Real Estate Development and is a board member of the USC Lusk Center and the Borstein Family Foundation. Alan received his Bachelor’s degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA from Harvard University.

Loren joined Borstein Enterprises in 2005 and oversees the organization’s residential investments. He has sourced and overseen more than 75 of the company’s joint ventures totaling over 4,300 homes plus the development and sale of over 13,000 lots. With over 25 years in the real estate industry, Loren has worked for three private homebuilders with a focus on urban infill development and affordable ownership product.
Loren began his career at the E&Y Kenneth Leventhal Real Estate group, working in five countries with residential & retail developers, financial institutions, investment banks and government agencies. Loren spent almost a year working in Asia during the economic crisis of 1998, assisting with asset valuation, loan workouts and portfolio sales. He is a board member of the Ronald McDonald House of Los Angeles and the Borstein Family Foundation and has donated time to the Jimmy Carter Collaboration Center’s Atlanta Project. Loren received his Bachelor’s degree from Emory University and has an MBA from the University of Southern California with a focus on real estate and finance. Loren lives in Los Angeles, CA with his wife, son and daughter.

Craig joined Borstein Enterprises in 2003 and is responsible for running the day-to-day operations of the company’s income property portfolio. In this role, Craig oversees acquisitions, dispositions, marketing, finance, asset management, development, construction, and commercial joint ventures. With over 21 years in the real estate industry, Craig has worked for two other private industrial and office developers.
Craig received his Bachelor’s degree from American University where he donated time in the U.S. Senate, U.S. Chamber of Commerce and The White House. Craig later received his MBA and Masters in Real Estate Development from University of Southern California. Craig also serves on the board of the Borstein Family Foundation and lives in Santa Monica, CA with his two daughters.

Eric joined Borstein Enterprises in 2007 and assists the company on land entitlement projects and oversees the Borstein Family Foundation.
Before joining Borstein Enterprises, Eric worked for six years at SunCal Companies, the largest privately owned developer of master planned communities in the United States. Eric specialized in land acquisition and project management/forward planning. Prior to SunCal, Eric worked for CB Richard Ellis and Lee & Associates working in different aspects of industrial brokerage and information.
Eric currently is a Board Member of The Rape Foundation, sits on the Board of Directors of the Crossroads Community Outreach Foundation, and is also a board member and Director of the Borstein Family Foundation. Eric attended Tulane University and Cal State University Northridge, and lives in Los Angeles, CA with his wife, two daughters and son.
With 20 years of experience in residential real estate, Omar brings a diverse background to his role as Borstein Enterprises’ Chief Financial Officer. Omar began his career managing financial operations for the active adult division of Pulte Homes, where he was integral in launching a major master-planned community in a breakthrough market. Omar then joined an investment management and development firm focusing his efforts on acquisitions before his next role in corporate finance with John Laing Homes. Prior to joining Borstein Enterprises, he was the CFO for Renasci Homes, a privately owned homebuilder and developer operating in California. Over the course of his career, he has spearheaded more than $1 billion in debt and equity financing and has been involved with multiple ERP system implementations and conversions. Omar earned a BS from the Pennsylvania State University at University Park and an MBA from the University of Mary Washington.

Mr. Pfahler has extensive experience developing and building new single-family, multi-family and age restricted communities throughout the western United States. With over 30 years of industry experience, Mr. Pfahler has been instrumental in over a billion dollars of new development projects including thousands of residential units and lots. He has been a principal and/or a senior executive at a number of quality regional development companies including IHP Capital / Newport Pacific Land, Shapell Land Company, New Urban West and UDC Homes. Prior to Joining Borstein Enterprises, he was a Principal at Newport Pacific Land Company where he managed large scale residential assets and acquired property for development in Arizona, California and Nevada. Mr. Pfahler has extensive experience acquiring and developing residential and mixed-use communities, large and small in both suburban and urban areas. Mr. Pfahler is an expert with institutional caliber real estate from acquisition through build out and was educated at the University of Southern California, School of Business in Real Property Development.

Owen joined Borstein Enterprises in 2011 and is responsible for structuring joint venture equity and debt investments in residential development assets. Owen has 16 years of experience in real estate acquisitions, development and finance. Prior to joining Borstein Enterprises, Owen spent seven years as a Manager in the Phoenix office of Development Planning & Financing Group, Inc., where he directed a team of consultants to advance financing activities on over 250 residential, commercial and mixed-use development projects. At DPFG, he managed CFD and other special taxing district formations that provided more than $2.5B in financing authorization to construct public infrastructure. Prior to DPFG, Owen held finance positions with Desert Mountain Properties, CB Richard Ellis and Affordable Residential Communities. Owen received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Finance from the University of Denver, and a Master of Real Estate Development (MRED) from the University of Southern California, where he was a Dean’s Merit Scholar. He lives with his family in Santa Monica, CA and Scottsdale, AZ.

Pat joined Borstein Enterprises on August 2017 as Assistant Controller and brings over 10 years of accounting/finance experience, specializing in real estate management. She began her career at MPG Office Trust, where she spent 6 years developing her finance and accounting skills as a Financial Analyst/Senior Accountant. Pat is a graduate of CSULA and holds a Real Estate Broker license.
Tinamarie Banks joined Borstein Enterprises as Senior Property Manager of its income property division in 2021. Tinamarie has amassed experience in every capacity of property management and facilities management. She is committed to ensuring that the goals and objectives are being met effectively. Among her management and operational responsibilities, she is responsible for vendor and tenant relations, construction management, financial analysis and reporting, operating budgets, and capital expenditures. Tinamarie has over 20 years' experience in portfolio management, operations and facility management throughout Los Angeles and Orange County.
